Potential bug in opening lightbox on mobile devices

Hi.
I was just trying out the new lightbox customzations on my iPhone 4 (Safari) when I noticed that if I turned my phone into "portrait" view the photo is shown in "full size" - of course for a landscape photo with the big white boarder on top and bottom, as I would predict it to be.
But when I turn my phone into "landscape format" suddenly only 4/5th of the photo are shown while the bottom 1/5 is overlayed by a "grey" surface.
If I was to show the caption on this device in landscape as well, it would cover up another 1/5th (almost) of the remaining photo and not be shown in the grey-zone.
Could someone look into it, please?
Of course this might be due to a more or less outdated device on my side too
Since I haven't been visiting my own page a lot in landscape mode in the lightbox on my phone, this might have existed since the old days too - it might just be a coincidence that I discovered it just now.
Thanks a lot for your help in advance.
Happy weekend

Some of this behavior is expected and some of it may be due to your lightbox CSS customizations. I was able to verify that your images are being very slightly cropped when held in landscape orientation. The black border around some of your images, for example, was cropped off. The title and caption will cover the image, as is expected, so the visitor can see the name and caption of the photo. The available space on a mobile device is so small that we feel it's best to show the image as large as possible and let the lightbox hide / show itself as required. The other option was to shrink the photo so the title doesn't cover it but we make sure your photo is viewed as large and beautiful as possible.
I tested this on a few other sites and things in landscape orientation worked properly.

I am not sure if we are talking about the same grey area - as I am not a native English speaker I might not always be able to describe what I am talking about well enough.
Yes, the boarders that I added to my photos will be partly "eaten up" when looking at my photos from a small screen like a phone, that's fine with me.
But I wonder what that grey area is about - I couldn't find any of my customizations being to blame for it - even though that might still be the case. So I have added a little photo-link and have marked that area that I am talking about in the photo with magenta colored writing.
I do have the same effect by the way, when I look at one of your photos in a lightbox and turn my phone to landscape-view, leftquark.
If I was touching the screen to present the buy-button and the captions those would in this case appear within the photo and not in the grey area.
Thanks for your kind help.

can you post a link to your site for me to look at? For example, a link to the photo above so I can see if I can view the grey box?

As said before I have the same effect when looking at one of your photos in the lightbox on my iPhone 4.
Thanks for your help.

Can you let me know which version of iOS you are running? SmugMug is supported completely on Safari for iOS8 but may have some issues with older versions of Safari.

of course, it is a 7.1.3 if I remember correctly - the latest one that works for this phone.
If you can see all those photos without the gray area on a newer iPhone I would think that it is because of the age of my phone. I just don't know anybody who has a newer one and lives close to me so that I could have a look for myself.
Thanks for your help & happy easter
