This species has only about 40 pairs of legs and lacks claws on the hind legs. It is very thin and thread-like and paler than the common species of similar appearance, as well a having fewer legs.
This was found on a dry, rotten piece of coarse bark off a Silver Birch tree.
With a long, thin individual moving over and uneven surface, DOF was an issue.
EM-1, Leitz Photar 50mm at f11 1/60*, ISO 400, on extension to ca 150mm from the sensor, flash, hand-held.
* Not the usual choice. It should have been maybe 1/250.

Could be an abstract!
Great bg, nice light, unique subject!
Thanks. Another one to look out for in my garden hunting ground.

Thanks, Brian.
No luck so far with the larger species, which I find frequently but is just too fast.
Yesterday I was shooting a white-legged millipede on the move. At some stage I picked up some unknown contamination from the substrate on my lens, the resulting flare right in the middle of portraits!
