Heaven! Love the mood! Fantastic comp for keeping that big rock in foreground.....adds to it....most people would have tried to get lake clean and it would be different shot!

This is pretty awesome. Only nit pick is there seems to be an issue around the top edge of the foreground rock. It could be due to compression or it could be if you did some selecting is post process.

Haha..no I see the watermark. Talking about the edge of the rock. It does not have a natural looking edge. Over sharpen, quick selections, and other editing can cause these types of edges. The shoreline of the lake has a little bit of it as well.

Yeah your right, I think its over sharpened. I did notice when I posted it on here. Funny thing is, it looked ok in Lightroom! I probably haven't accounted for the Smugmug auto screen sharpening which I get when I upload the shots. I either need to tone down the auto sharpening, or not be so aggressive in Lightroom. Thanks for your very valid observation, I'll revisit and repost!
OK, I'm not really seeing the "sharpening" issue here. Someone help me out so that I might learn something. There are some sharp edges to the rock but I thought that was secondary to the contrast between the rock's position and the distance to the lake and the terrain below the rock that surrounds the lake. Looks like a great shot to my eye. Are you referring to the "top" edges of the rock going clockwise in direction?

Thanks all. I like the possibilities of this location, so I dragged myself out of bed at 03:40 yesterday, to climb to the top for 06:30 sunrise. Sadly, the sky was totally clear and a little hazy, so I didn't get the sunrise I hoped for, but still got a decent shot, and one that should inspire me again perhaps in a few weeks when the sun moves further North. I will upload later. :-)
