"f8 and be there" was my theme for the day. I got burned last year by shooting at f/4 (on FF) and having the AF lock on a skier's pole out in front of his body, and it ruined what would have been a great poster. Anyway, I'd say this worked well.

    I would say 9 as in 10 his right hand is covered. I do think the color is a little flat in both though and would benefit from a little multiply here and there. I would also crop out the ground below to make it seem as if he was higher. Just my $.02

    That 2nd shot just above looks better to me with the pole at 12 o'clock and no ground shown below. The other one looks like he's grabbed his skis (maybe he did?) and the light colored pole gets lost in the tree background.
