    Thanks all for the comments- appreciated :)

    Jo - you are right about it "appearing" to be watching my every move - the "pupil effect" is caused by the light that hits the eye directly opposite the camera lens going down into the eye instead of being reflected off so it always appears directly towards the camera lens.

    It is not green enough for the species and the underside should be pink. Nice pictures, anyway.

    Yes appears I have mis-ID'd it - it's a Gorse shieldbug
