Made a super quick trip up to San Joaquin ridge looking across to the ritter range in the Sierra Nevada, which really need to be renamed the Sierra Seco these days.

Didn't really get what I wanted due to some difficulties, but this is what I got.

(yes, that is completely bare ground at ~9500 feet, in April)

#1 is interesting and 2 is a nice shot also.

Just read our snow pack in the Washington Cascades is at 22%, it's going to be a dry summer for farmers on the eastside.

Both terrific. When I looked at the first, I thought: I would never have the patience to do that.

Great shots and a terrific effort here! Really like them both.

We are hearing a lot about your drought back east as well. There are some dramatic satellite picks comparing the present snow caps from previous years.

thanks all, I'm pleasantly surprised at the reaction to #2, I was disappointed to not having been able to hike far enough to get the moon setting behind the high pointy minarets, so I settled for having it set behind the bumpy Starr minaret, but I'm glad to know my abbreviated effort was well received.

A panoramic view of Ritter and Banner that I had to crop out to make a more balanced image.

and another closer crop of my first image. 5th moon down from the top is totality, others are at 10 minute intervals on each side of totality.
