Moving Navigation Arrows and Making them Bigger

In a thread about the new carousel feature (see http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=251356&page=2) there was a very helpful side conversation providing the code to create a gallery style with the main image above and navigation thumbnails below. (Which I've now used for my www.jodystuartphotography.com site.) Here's an excerpt from that thread:

There was no further discussion of the arrows in the that thread, but in looking at Max's site now (http://www.maxbridge.co.uk/location-...y-portfolio-2/), it looks like he has managed to make the change he described above regarding the arrows. That is, moving the two arrows that change the main photo up to the sides of the photo and making the arrows bigger. Could someone provide guidance on how to do that?

Thanks very much.

Jody
