This species can be seen running around on the undersides of overturned pieces of wood or stones picked up from the ground. It is smaller (ca 2mm) than the Tomocerus, alongside of which it lives.
In daylight it has a pale pink, satiny appearance which does not show under flash illumination. The eye spot is less well-defined that those of other, similar springtails, being rather diffuse, reddish-brown under the microscope.
