First large red damselfly of the year

Seems to be - took me a bit by surprise to see it but I looked up my previous earliest encounters and found one on 22nd April.

I do love damsel and dragonflies. Love to watch them float overhead coming from their hatch at the river. These are all lovely shots that really show the delicate and beautiful wing structure. clap #2 is my favorite.

I saw my first Holly Blue of the season today.

Yes seen a few holly blues over the last few days but none settling for a shot yet.
