I was re-watching some of my Creative Live workshops and in one of Joel Grimes' workshops he showed his post processing technique that he uses to get his look. I took an old image and played around with his technique and this is what I came up with. Next I want to find a cool background and cut her out and put her on that background and try the rest of his technique.

Kind of hard to tell without actually knowing what you wanted to accomplish. Is it for skin, contrast, etc? Your question is like asking someone if you have traveled too far without knowing where you wanted to go.
