This was next to a rough path through the desiccated, semi-desert-like Maquis of NW Corsica.
There were lots of dry grass stem, twigs and suchlike at about knee height. These provided perched for the insects but clutter the OOF background.
This is one of the locations where I found the 300mm (600mm equivalent) reach of my Olympus 4/3 70-300mm AF very useful.
The colouration, especially of the veins of the wings, suggest that this is an immature male of the Yellow-winged Darter Sympetrum flaveolum
These are uncropped, some cropped slightly to tightly in the framing. All shot at ISO 200, 1/320 f6.3, 1/100f11, 1/100 f11, 1/125 f11 in sunlight, focal length 300mm.

Thanks.

Thanks, Jo.
I have a vague recall of leaning over the top of the insect to get the last images.
Unfortunately, I am not really at home with the zooming of AF lenses, so framing was not always ideal.

Brian,
Thanks. I am still trying to recall exaclty how, with a FL of 300mm, I got the angle on the last one.

Thanks, Pedrag.
It helps to be on holiday, with few limits on time.

Thanks, Phil.
I don't know if I just clipped the tips of his claspers when framing the last one.
