Fire Bug Pyrrhoma apter: a Hot Date

I can't remember the exact location or habitat but these were photographed in Corsica.

This species is widespread in Europe but is not found in the UK.

EM-1, Kiron 105mm, probably f11 1/250 ISO 400, twin TTL flash, hand-held.

There is a similar species, with more complex patterning. I don't know if one or the other has the 'rights' to the common name.
