Birds at Balboa Lake

The storm was heading our way from Northern California. The rain stopped long enough for my friend and I to head to Balboa Lake. He wanted to try out his new radio controlled boat. I wanted to take some photos of the birds. There is quite a variety on the lake. Most were on land that day due to the pending storm. I had hoped for a few good egret shots, but they were floating on the boats that were moored in the middle of the lake.

Very nice shots Sandy, you should come to the lake more often. There are so few good sunsets, and your's is one of them.

they're very nice ! I really like #1, +the pelicans. I 'd love to see #3 in a horizontal crop with the full bird - it's great to see this dark duck( i'm not good at this, I'll call all of them 'ducks' !)in a background of the white ones with a shallow DOF!
