There are several Cinnabar Moths in our garden, where they have been gathered for several day. Every recent day had at least one flying at about waist height and I have rescue three or four from our greenhouses.

Although we see these every year at this season, I have never seen a pair mating. I tried several angles of view with daylight and with flash but had to compromise on focus and allowing some unwanted highlight on the wing. This is a flash shot.

    Thanks. Any crunch comes from my knees on the leaf stalks of rhubarb.

    Here, I think the light fall-off from flash helps.
