Christmas shots

I just returned from my vacation, and I am still getting caught up. My nephew got a Hummer from Grandma/Grandpa... (I think he was excited)

I tried my luck with a portrait of my nephews...
I used a rear flash to put an accent light on their head. It is impossible to get them both to look at me and smile at the same time (and the excitement of Christmas didn't help at all either).

    Jim,

I know what you mean about getting the kids to look at the camera. You might as well just give it up! :D

I don't think the back flash worked as an accent light. I'm not sure how you do that but would be interested to hear from some of the experts here. I would think you have to get it low relative to the subject, directly behind (opposite to the camera), relatively close, and pointing up...but I don't know.ne_nau.gif
