These shots of this female were taken with the Schneider HM40mm at f16 on extension and x 1.5 TC, FOV 6mm wide. They are not cropped The lower magnifications were with the Printing Nikkor 105mm, cropped for composition. all were with twin diffused TTL RC flash, hand-held.
The compositions of the high magnification shots are uninspiring but the beetle was a bit large for the FOV.
The sixth image is of a nearby male. This is included to show how recognisable the males are. The image could be better.
