Low light dance recital

These were a challenge to get. The school they used has no front lights for the stage, making it not so conducive to for photos. It made for some dramatic scenes but tough to shoot. I figured it would be a good time to improve my low light and processing skills. I thought I would share a few of my favorites.

I really think these could be shot at half the ISO and shutter speed.

I get wanting to get the motion, but 1/160-1/200 range will do exactly that at fraction of a cost, and save you the blown highlights.

Thanks Foques! I originally started out around 1/200 but was getting more motion blur than I wanted. It could very well have been a shaky hand holding the camera while trying to follow them around the stage. I will give it another try at the next chance I get.
