I never thought much of it until a recent visitor alerted me of the "hacking" link in the smugmug footer. She didnt quite understand how to take it. Thinking about it from her point of view, I really cant blame her.
Imagine being a buyer in the shopping cart section of a website. You are about to disclose sensitive information such as your address and credit card number. You look at the footer on your screen and see "hacking" amongst a list of other links. Is the use of this internet sensitive word really necessary? Or, atleast, is there a way to change the footer on the shopping cart page? It just doesnt seem professional and though it hasnt happened to me, I fear it has the potential to turn off future customers.
What do you all think?

Hi, audi <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/wave.gif" border="0" alt="" > thanks for posting! It's part of our culture - to foster hacks and apps. We've got a very active SmugMug hacking community, and they've come up with some great stuff.
I see you've turned OFF the big SmugMug footer for your site, via your customization - and that's great - it removes the "hacking" link from your site.
BTW - for anyone reading this, it's control panel>customize> and check the radio button for "show SmugMug Footer" to "NO" -- GOTCHA -- you must have something, anything in your footer for this to work, so if you don't have a custom footer, just put <br> in the Footer box.

It will not impact the shopping cart, correct. Thanks so much for the feedback, audi and cabbey

Strangely, it did not work for me. The new footer appears, but the old one is still below it, and the radio button to remove it doesn't make any effect. Some help please?

If you want your copyright, sure just put that inside it's own div in your footer html.
Holler if you need more help?

As i understood from what you've posted above, the standard footer should be gone, and only mine remain - that's what i want. <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/mwink.gif" border="0" alt="" >
Or are you saying that in fact the standard footer will remain no matter what, and i only can add a copyright of mine above or below it?
UPDATE
I guess i've figured it out, please correct me if i'm wrong. The smugmug footer remains in any case, but may be adjusted, and I can just add whatever necessary to it. Well, that's ok, i've managed to get something i'm satisfied with. If there are more options please tell me.
More options? The options are really limitless What did you have in mind?

Hey Andy!
OK, I did this but I would like to have a more discrete one, something like this:
http://transtrum.smugmug.com/ - with no shopping cart, no feeds logo etc. clean.
Currently mine is a bit more pronounced - you can take a look at my site: guttman.smugmug.com
10x for your time!
