Prints from Costco

4x6 prints are $0.19, 8x10s are $1.99 and both 11x14 and 12x18s are $2.99. I had a handfull of shots printed up 12x18 on Fuji Crystal Archive lustre paper on a Noritsu QSS 3101 printer. Costco recommends obtaining a profile from www.drycreekphoto.com to do your own color corrections and then noting "No auto correction" on the order. To drop the Costco labeling from the back of the photo indicate "no Costco back print" and to add your own studio or copyright you can specify "custom back print" `whatever xxx xxx'. The extra charge for that is a paltry $0.99 per visit!!!!

I absolutely did not expect anything like the professional setup they had. I was just trying it as a lark. But wow.

Yes, they are. They only go to 12x18, but they are cheap, the luster paper is fantastic, and the image quality is really high. I don't use the profile even. I just take my images straight from the camera and tell them "no mods".

I read good things about Costco over at FM. Apparently one of the wedding photographers is using them exclusively and is quite happy with the results. I'm considering joining again just to get prints done there. Oh, and they also sell 100 sheets of Epson Glossy Photo Paper for only $20.

How do you get the prints from digital, at Costco? Do you work them up, put them on a CD and take them over????

I am interested, and I know someone else who would be, but I don't know how to do it

You can use CD, or any of the flash card formats (CF, XD, SD, etc.). In some states you can upload via the internet, but I don't know if that is universally available.

That is not the same as the in store photocenter. The upload service is a connection with Kodak and the in-store photcenters are using Fuji paper and Noritsu QSS 3101 printers. There are also notes on the various Costco/Kodak web pages that leave me to think this is a different level service. One is a note that the upload and pickup of the actual Costco photocenters applies to Texas residents, the next is that the Kodak/Costco service is using inkjet printers. Another is a disparatety in the offering on both price and services with the Kodak/Costco service not offering the backprint options that pros and advanced amateurs will like. Last is that the Kodak/Costco service has a 5 meg and 3 image upload limitation, whereas the actual Costco service uploads 10 images at a time and seems to not worry about size.

The last reason the two are not the same is that I asked the local Costco photocenter and they told me it is being rolled out and has not come to Massachusetts yet.

Very Satisfied
I have been using COSTCO & SAMS for quite a while and have been very happy. Quality if excellent, price is better than right and in most cases 1 hr. My only complaint is that they dont print 8x10's. They do 8x12 then I have to trim (which they do have a trimmer there).

does any one know if the costco's in CA is able to do the back print on photo's? How about wolf or ritz cam?
