Went shooting today down South at Boca Grande. Snapped my first osprey in flight. :D I'm sure glad I don't carry a cell phone. :huh :wxwax Saw a few pelicans also. I also hit the Venice Rookery....again. The typical GBH show.

Thanks for looking.

at least they were not in your backyard !! Great, a bald eagle, now an Osprey in flight - good start to 2006 ?! #4,5,6 - I like the most in the flight shots - I can just see its eyes - I wonder if you can crop any closer ?
the last one and 2nd last ( I'm not good with numbers - i loose count when i start from the top rolleyes1.gif) are great thumb.gifthumb!

Great captures Mike, even if they were taken with a puny little lens :lol4

Seriously though, Great set of BIF's.

Thanks Steve. The BIF shots were taken with a sweet little Canon 200mm f/2.8 "L" USM II.(croped though) The tree shots were taken with a Tokina 300mm AT-X f/4. Not a bad lens for the $$$...but AF speed is not quick enough for accurate fast BIF shots. :cry You can get a couple...but the more you fire...the more likely you are to get a blurrrrrrrE one I'll be replacing it soon. Very soon. Hope to have a 400mm for the Feb. Florida shoot with wildman Harry. thumb.gif If I could find this guys address...I could borrow me a 500mm.

Oh yeah....and may that 500mm fall on your foot. eek7.gifrolleyes1.gif jk.

Oh, no I couldn't drop that on my foot. It might scratch my lens :lol4

400mm?? Is that the 400 f5.6? Arthur Morris says that is his favorite Lens. From some of the shots I've seen with it here it looks like a sweet lens.

That's what I'm looking at for the February Florida shoot....but I really want the Canon 400mm f/2.8...but will probably go with their 300mm f/2.8 with 1.4x converter. Then I'd go for that 500mm after that set up. Not sure of the time line. I have a silly self imposed rule (budget) regarding camera stuff. I won't spend any NEW money on stuff...but can rehash other hobby money. So..I'll be selling off much of my WWII militaria collection on Ebay to pay for the new glass. Just depends on the buying frenzy to the time frame involved. Need a flight helmet or invasion gas mask? eek7.gif :uhoh :D

Thanks Ben. I left the "stick" out there because I figured some wise crackin' smart arse would come along dripping pineapple juice from his pizza....all over my shots. Now I can pick up that "stick" and beat him with it. eek7.gifrolleyes1.gif :uhoh

You and Jeff coming over for the February shoot with the Harry guy? ne_nau.gif

Thanks Steve. Yep...had a pretty good day.....despite using my itty bitty lens. :D Do hate cropping shots...but 200mm is usually too short. Working on that 400mm.

    I know what you mean about cropping shots <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/umph.gif" border="0" alt="" >.

So how goes the E-bay sales? No one jump on your WWII surpluss yet? <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/rolleyes1.gif" border="0" alt="" >
