Rays of light are nice! Nice comp! Is the sun an effect from PS? I ask because the rays are not lighting up anything else.

It's done with the Lens Flare filter which I muted down after having the effect larger. Glad you like it.
I used the effect in a few turkey photos also which gave me some interesting results.

I vote for # 1. There's just something about it that really appeals to me. It may have something to do with the awkward stance in #2
