Spider & Fly (Not what you expect)

As I entered the rear garage doorway, I happened to look down at what I though was some random debris on the UPVC window sill. A closer look told me it was a rather featureless brown spider and its prey, which I then thought was a cranefly.
Returning with my camera, Kiron 105mm macro and TTL twin flash attached, I saw that the prey, being wrapped in silk, was a partly-disassembled damselfly, the head missing. I took some pictures.
Later, as I returned for some more, possibly better, images I found the spider to be absent and this (tachinid?) fly crawling all over the damselfly, licking it. As I watched, the fly lost interest and departed.
Later still, I found the partly wrapped meal was unattended.
The UPVC is unhelpful in terms of lighting and background but the images tell a story.
