Spider Enoplognatha ovata guarding her egg-sac on the underside of a rhododendron leaf. Both shots focus stacked using zerene.

    Brian,

An unusual, side by side pose. Lovely capture.

I love the pastel colours and soft textures.

Brian, when I first saw the title of this thread I thought, "Geez, spider mummy - just the way I like my spiders - mummified." mwink.gif

Then to my horror and eventually my delight, I saw that it is a live spider. Not only a live spider, but a rather beautiful one and in the act of laying a beautiful egg sac.

Such wonderful shots - color, sharpness and composition. You are on the verge of making me appreciate spiders! :Dthumb.gif

    Thanks Jo for the comments.
Spiders can sometimes be beautiful and many of the females are selfless mothers :):
