Damp Digger Wasp On Goldenrod

There had been quite a lot of rain and everything was wet. I decided to take an early morning look at the Goldenron flowers, which had been so productive of subjects.
To my surprise, I found one of the smaller Digger Wasps lying on a flower, in an easily photographable pose. I took some shots in situ and them picked of the small group of flowers. I then lay these on a nearby garden bench so that I could get maximum support from it for my hands. At one stage, I used my dark waterproof coat as a background.
The wasp wandered around the flowers but made no attempt to fly away and was returned to the plants after the session.
EM-1, Printing Nikkor 105mm, with up to 80mm additional extension from the 1:1 spacing, twin TTL flash, hand-held.

Thanks, Brian.
In still air conditions yesterday, I was getting lots of shots of about three species.

Phil,
I might have seen the odd one in previous years and not taken photos but there is an almost constant presence on the Goldenrod in sunlight. It looks like yours are spending the summer in my garden!
