Yes it is a miner's or construction worker's hard hat. I found this at a shrine on top of a mountain at 3800 meters while mountain biking.

I would have preferred a little brighter for the photo as the shadows are losing detail.

Mexico City is at 2200meters, so it was a whale of a climb, I can tell you that.

Thanks Rainbow! initially I had a brighter, crisper version, but I thought I lost the sense of the homage and I went for a more somber approach. I could try to go a tad brighter, but less than what I had originally. I hate to disappoint you, but the flowers are fake...
