The first species turned up on the notepad of one member of the recent woodland fungus foray. It was the Common Awl Robberfly Neoitamus cyanurus.
The last frame is of a Leptogaster cylindrica on vegetation beside the local sailing lake. The focus is a bit soft but it has some merit, showing the fly carrying a Cranefly as prey.
EM-1, Kiron 105mm macro, TTL flash, hand-held.

Thanks, Brian.
Probably my favourite subject, when I can find them.

Thanks, Phil.
At least, when we do see them, a shot or two tends to be easy to obtain. I think my first one was in Greece.
