Gallery Templates?

I've been wondering how to do this for awhile and hopefully I'm just missing something fundamental...

On this page noticed my thumbnails are 4:3:

On this page they are 1:1:

So the way this is working my "All Galleries" setting is set to 4:3 and for the 2nd page I made it a "Custom Gallery". That allowed me to change the setting without changing it for all my other galleries.

What I would like to do is make that "Custom Gallery" a template that I could reuse on other pages, without having to make each one completely separate. i.e. I could update the template and it would propagate to all pages using that template. I thought that is what a "theme" would do, but that just seems to be for colors and text.

Am I missing some obvious way to do this?

Go to Customize > Gallery Settings > Appearance tab
    Set thumbnails to Square there.
Every individual gallery is set like this independent of all other galleries.

You could save a "Quick Setting" so new galleries can pick up a selected saved setting. But you have to go into
gallery settings to "Quick Settings", select in the drop box then hit the green box with the check in it to apply.

Edit: In your case, just looked, you are using a college and grid gallery. Girds are always square.
I was referring to a Smugmug style gallery.

I'm assuming you have a photo box applying to "all galleries". To set any other gallery's photo box different you have to
make the gallery "Just this gallery". Remove the current box and add another for "Just this gallery".
