Losing sales. How can I get 'proof' to appear on gallery thumbnails?

This has bugged me for a while but now it really is causing me an issue.
I cover horse shows and upload the images to a gallery in the evening. About a year-ago it was possible to have the 'proof' message visible on the thumbnails and that worked great for me. Something then changed and the 'proof' was no longer visible on the thumbnails and when clicked on it takes you to a larger image in the gallery with the word 'Proof' on the image.
The issue is, the thumbnail, even though small, is still enough for some people to rip and post on their Facebook pages.
So here's a gallery I shot on Saturday:

and here's a Facebook post where someone has just grabbed the thumbnails and uploaded them. If the 'Proof' was visible on the image, I'm sure it would have made them choose to buy even a couple of smaller resolution images

So, if I am missing a trick here and it is possible to add 'Proof' back onto the thumbnails that would be great. If it isn't possible then I'm going to have to look around for another Gallery website because this is ridiculous and affecting my sales.
So, is it possible to add the copyright back onto the thumbnail view and if it is...how?
Thanks in advance, MP

From the help page at http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/93343: For a custom watermark you will need to specify that you want the thumbs watermarked. Or change the gallery to a different style. The gallery you are happy with appears to be using one of the collage styles; the one without the proofs is not.

I honestly don't mind what the gallery looks like as long as I can get the 'proof' message on the thumbnails. I tried changing the style to the same as the link with them and it made no difference. I know it worked before as you can see from the gallery I mentioned but I just want that gallery that worked as a template....but it doesn't work anymore?
Appreciate it if you could explain where I went wrong because I can't work it out?
Cheers
