folder / gallery thumbnails not updating

I've been trying to update 2 thumbnails (feature photo) of 2 galleries for the last 2 hours in my sandboxed new smugmug.
I've recropped and reselected the thumbnail.
Nothing happening.
Still showing the old thumbnail and the old crop.

Are you trying to show the thumb as the featured gallery/folder thumb?
Thumbs are not used for any gallery or folder. Thumbs are only used in Smugmug style galleries and
can only show cropped there. Cropped thumbs can not be used for a feature photo. The cropped
thumb "Th" size link can be use in html.

All other places they are typically called thumbs but they are actually full photo resized images.
They show as squared in folders in grid 1x1 format because Smug uses the center part of the full
photo. Look at a portrait photo and watch peoples heads get cut off because of that centering.
There is a hack that will move the centering up for portrait photos.

For a few on my featured photos I upload a special cropped 1x1 photo and place it in an unlisted
gallery. I point to those for that special cropped photo to feature.

I need to do that.
Brides and grooms don't like having their heads cut off in their gallery feature photos.
It was fine under the old smugmug, but the new sandbox preview, they are cutting heads.
why Smugmug decided to go this way with the new design is beyond me; it is like going back to when Smugmug first started.

I agree...In old Smug I was careful to crop my thumbnails so they looked good in a square aspect ratio, since I chose to use square thumbnails and the same crop was used in all of the feature images. It's very frustrating to have to go into my galleries and choose different feature images now because new Smugmug doesn't use the square crops.
