I apologize if this is in the wrong section. Feel free to move if needed.
I would like to incorporate a blog to help raise the SEO for my site. I am not sure the best way to do this.
Is it better to host it off site on something like word press? Should I type it out and add it as part of a "page" on my site?
I have seen the smug mug help article, but am looking for a little bit more info from someone who has had success.
Thank you!

Using a blog platform can have the added plus of presenting inbound links to your smugmug site. That is a good thing for SEO.

What other ways are you utalizing to help increase your back links?
I have a facebook, google+, Instagram, weddingwire, and the Knot profile. That's all for now though.

So. I bought quite a few domains and redirected all of them to my primary domain. I also reset my smugmug account to a custom (my primary) domain.
Should I host the blog at a photographybykevnpaul.NET as opposed to a .com or do I need to buy the blog.photographybyKevinPaul.com
I am really ignorant about this, so over simplifying will not insult me.
You shouldn't need to buy anything if you create a sub-domain of your current domain. You already own it. I don't know what host you're using, but if you need to purchase a sub-domain, you need to find another host.
