"Slider" option for Background Slideshow

I would like to suggest SM add a "slider control" option to the background slideshow. By "slider control, I mean a line of dots along the bottom edge of the slideshow, with each dot representing each image in the slideshow. This does two things: 1) communicates to the user where they are in the slideshow, and 2) lets the user select a specific image in the slideshow. Another useful feature commonly implemented in "slider controls" is that positioning the mouse over the displayed image pauses the slideshow. Moving the mouse off the image causes the slideshow to resume.

This type of control is most useful for homepage slideshows where there is a relatively small number of photos (up to 8 or so). It is so ubiquitous that I'm surprised it isn't already in SM's slideshow.

Here is an example HTML5 slider control.

Followup: Is it possible to use this slider in a SM HTML Content Block?
