Found this rather large squash bug looking as if it was trying to break in the house through a window frame. ID'd as a Western Conifer Seed Bug, Leptoglossus occidentalis. First 4 shots MPE-65/ full flash. Last 4 shots Sigma 105mm OS, natural light.

    Brian,

Excellent images of an exceptionally attractive bug of that group. They are said to fly up to quite long distances to find a place to hibernate.

Brian, great detail here and the backgrounds are beautiful. I'm learning to view the stereo shots now as well. Thanks!

Welcome to the world of cross-eye stereo. Once you have mastered it you have it for life. It plays hell with some parts of the annual eyes test! rolleyes1.gif
