Hi there,

I am new to Dgin and to SmugMug, I was wondering if anyone would like to comment on how I could improve my site?

https://stevenjamesmartin.smugmug.com

In particular, there are lots of customisations in the Pages tab that I haven't tried. Are there any good examples of creative uses of SmugMug?

Also, any tips for getting traffic to your SmugMug site?

Hi Steven and welcome to SM. wave.gif

SM is heavily customizable. To give you an example, I started with the Sierra template and have restructured my site completely (mind you, I am not an HTML or CSS expert). The important thing is to have your vision and design in mind - then simply come to this forum if you can't figure out the execution and ask questions. There are a lot of people on here that are more than happy to help.

Have fun and I will keep a track of your website to see how you do. thumb.gif

    Cheers,

My opinion does not necessarily make it true. What you do with my opinion is entirely up to you.

Welcome! I can't take time right now to review your site (still trying to get mine up & running) but just wanted to briefly answer about increasing traffic to your site. Many people have told me (& it appears to be true) that a big part of that is to increase inbound linking to your site. You can do that by posting photos or links on other sites like a blog, FaceBook & other social media, anyplace you can think of where people may be interested in clicking on something that will take them straight to your SmugMug site. The handy thing is that you can check your stats even right on your site & see where you're getting traffic from. You can get more extensive info elsewhere, but it's a start. If you have a lot of photos from a specific place, you may be able to get the place to add some of your photos to their site, or at least a link to your photos here.
