Puffballs & a little Mycena...

One fallen tree had what must have been close to a hundred puffballs in various stages of their life, from little baby ones, to larger ones that were no doubt close to blowing, and one that already had. None of these were however particularly large...

The little mycena was tiny. The stalk a centimetre, the cap likely less than 4 millimetres...

    Paul, nice shots. Love the detail in these. The second shot almost seems "other worldly" in a manner of speaking.

    An excellent set, especially the small "puffballs". I don't recall seeing an image quite like that. I think they are all earthballs Scleroderma.
