Amethyst Deceiver... a wonderful purple mushroom...

Laccaria amethystina, commonly known as the amethyst deceiver, is a small brightly coloured mushroom, that grows in deciduous as well as coniferous forests. The mushroom itself is edible, but can absorb arsenic from the soil

    Paul,

The arsenic issue might not be all bad.

It has some benefits in treating leukaemia and is now showing some promise in treating other cancers, blocking some pathways for cell gene expression.

    Self-medication is not recommended!
