Domain name private?

Hi there,

Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this question, but I am transferring my domain to GoDaddy and then redirecting it to my SmugMug.

At GoDaddy, the price of the domain I want is £5.99/yr, plus an additional £6.99/yr to make the domain private.

Has anyone else bought a domain through GoDaddy and, if so, is it worth paying the extra £6.99 a year to make my domain details private?

I use namecheap.com and they only charge $2.99 to make details private. Check them out. They have great prices too.
