Making your photos looking like a painting..

I am sure I am not the only one who has tried various ways of turning a photo into a painting. The filters are fine for basics, but using the layers and various blending options really does seem to work a lot better. Basically copied the background layer twice. The first layer I used the find edges tool and then wacked the contrast up to give it more definition. I then desaturated this level. I then used the 2nd layer and messed about with the crosshatch filter and then manually tweaked various parts of it. I then blended together using the Overlay option. Simplified but more or less what I have done with various tweaks and detail brought back for little bits from original.

Anyway heres one I have had a crack at, so lets see some yours :):
