Help disabling nav menu page

On my website i have 5 navigation links at the top of the page under my logo.
Within my first one named Photography, I have 5 more sublinks when hovered over. If I click the top link Photography it takes me to the Photography page. What I want to do is disable any page linked to the main top link and only have the sublinks be selected.
So if someone clicks on the Photography nav link it does nothing.

I am very new to this so I apologize if this has been answered before but I have not been able to find anything addressing this.

Just remove the page link on your nav bar. There should be a drop-down and select "Custom Link" (or something like that) and just don't type in a URL.

When I change the page link to an empty custom URL i then lose the sublinks that are within.
I have 4 galleries and 1 page in my Photography folder that are the sublinks.

Is there a way to create the sublinks in a different method than having them in the main folder in the Organize section?

Obviously I never tried that (the one I suggested). The only way I can think of would be to create it "by hand".

To have the top link be a "dead" button, you will need to set it to "Custom URL" and then just leave the URL field blank. Then, to get the sublinks to show up, you can re-add them into the navigation menu manually. Just be sure to nest them under the top link by dragging it to the right slightly.
