Aaron,
I have a weakness for that pinned header:) As saying goes "a picture is worth a thousand words". I took a liberty to apply it to this situation and say "a working example is worth a long post" : https://pinnedheader.smugmug.com/

Please, take a look. The site will be up for the next 14 days.

Doh. Looks like the conversion to mobile breaks the pinned header. Time to fix it!

A little digging ... since the mobile view doesn't have enough room to usually have a pinned header, we purposefully do not pin the header on mobile. The issue is obviously whether or not it should re-pin if the window expands back out of mobile view. I'll update you know when we've made a decision on path forward.

I need to make a correction to your research: the current number of people who shrinks a window to mobile view and then back out after scrolling down is 1 ( ONE ) - that would be me:) And this is exactly the problem. There should be at least 2 (TWO) people who does it: - myself (The Customer) and that other guy who is getting paid to do the QA at Smugmug:) These bugs are jut being compounded on that poor pinned header feature:) Too bad that I am the only one who is finding them:)

I understand (from my own professional experience) that this bug is low priority due to the low ration of total # of user to number of users who can detect it and be upset about it. But let me give you a real life use case, if i may, please. I just was playing with the iPhone 6s Plus. Do you know that when holding the phone in Landscape orientation it pulls the full desktop version of the Smugmug site? Yes, it does. The header is pinned, as it should. Of course you probably already guessed that when rotating the phone into the portrait orientation the site switches to mobile view. This, as you indicated above, will unpin the header. I absolutely agree with this approach - no room for a pinned header in such a small viewable area. ... and now rotate the phone back into Landscape mode....and the user experience and expectations just have been totally changed - the header is disappearing over the top edge of the screen.

Why offer a feature if it is actually broken? I am totally grateful for recently fixing the horizontal resizing bug!!! I hope this whole thing can be fixed.

P.S. do you have open position in products and delivery by any chance? :) I can find many more bugs:)

    Michael,
You are totally correct in that we should be finding these bugs. Unfortunately, with a product as diverse as ours, some things do slip through the cracks. We hope by now you've seen that we hate when this happens and try to respond and fix as quickly as possible. Often having a feature that works well most of the time is better than no product at all. While we'd love to release perfect products every time, we also know that releasing and then improving on them can benefit you and our other customers much more that holding onto it.

We have a fix for both issues that is about to go into QA. I'll let you know when it goes live! Thank you again for being so patient and easy to work with!
