Hi All,
I went out today not expecting much as it's a dreary, overcast day.
Using a 81A filter, I managed to get this.
My one concern is that it's two contrasty. :dunno

I love the composition with the boardwalk leading into the picture and the carpet of leaves. Looks like there's kind of an 'orangy' color cast to me, tho.

EDIT
this is my version. not exactly what i mentioned above, but i lowered the reds on curves, raised the greens on curves, used the Burn tool to make that boardwalk pop. used lvl's to adjust to taste. and used RGB curves to make it "pop"
this was just done to personal preference:D

Great photo though, try BW and repost it.
Setup: One camera, one lens, and one roll of film.
Good start at a nice picture though.

I do think the image could do with some PP. Daniel, in my opinion, the trees are too green (Because I was there?) but your leaves look more natural.
Here a black and white one, which could also do with some PP (Today some time:): )
While I like BW I think the colours are nice in the original.

converted to b/w and toned-
selective color on leaves--
some blur--
I like the composition of this photo--

That looks wicked!
Explain, please for a PS novice, how you do that?

be glad to-
I'll need to do it this pm--
got to go to work--
talk to you later-
george
probably used the magnetic lasso tool to outline the walkway and treeline. then cut it out. created a new layer out of it. monochrome/B&W conversion. then probably just curved the leaves layer.
*thats how i woulda done it *

nice try but that sounds too hard to me--
converted to b/w with conversion action from photoshop website (will give link later this week if interested-let me know)--
tweaked with levels and curves (I do it like I do cooking--to taste)--
went to grayscale, 8 bits, then duotoned and then I believe used one of the ps quadtones--
went back to the original color pic and picked out the leaves with color range and fuzzied it til I got what I wanted and moved the color selection over to the bw--
threw in some gaussian blur and that's it--
don't pin me down on exactly what amounts etc because do a lot of this to taste as I go (enjoying this too much to be too organized in my work; probably shows but I don't give a rat's ass; will get to that point eventually)--
any more questions ask away and I'll answer best I can--
color selection can be kind of gimmicky but I'm seeing some real nice photos with this (see red lady in top photos and it looks like DanielB does pretty well with it)--
