There are huge numbers of black fruiting bodies of this fungus in our local woods, on soft decaying, moss-covered, fallen tree trunks. I wanted to get some better images than previously and spent a session on them. I tried using twin flash, one freestanding, but found that the best results were with one central flash.
I have brightened some to better show the detail.
I mostly used f16 but I needed f22 for the last image.
