Designer spider ?

I spotted a running crab spider sitting on a vertical strut on my greenhouse. When I got near for a shot, it ran around to the underneath, between the strut and the glass. Although it made for a very awkward shot I'm glad it did because the shot below shows what I found.
I'm pretty certain the crab spider was not responsible for the amazing web structures but I wonder what was?

Great find and info info Ziggy - thanks- certainly a lot of similarities in the web structure. I will investigate further. I like the idea of a spider trying to bend aluminium struts
