Sure, if it has a link to the previous picture, go for it
I'm not 100% sure what it is. I know the photo somehow belonged to/is of my grand-fathers brother. He was stationed in Indonesia during the 2nd world war, as a medical doctor. This photo is either from the return of his batalion from Indonesia, or from the return of Queen Wilhelmina to the Netherlands at the end of the same war.
It's difficult to say, as i have literally 1000s of old family photos (1850s-1950s) and not all are marked well. They are usually grouped, so i have a pretty good idea though. I have about 200 of the war in Indonesia as well, some pretty neat ones actually.
I shot this picture of my grand mother (my mother's) in 1969/65 with my father's Rolleicord.
I can remember where this was shot. She is looking to the street as we were on the 3.ed floor.
The photo is brand new, because it was recovered today!
I can remember her very well because she was very poor but/and gentle.
In 1958 when my parents went to Brussel's World fair, she kept me and gave me milk and bread and sweet. Oh how I loved that sweet !!...

Hah, cool story, but I meant, what is the link/association with the previous picture?
Myself in the middle and my parents back in 1956/57.
I was then 8/9 years old.
I do remember this was shot by the beach in winter and with the Rolleicord.
My father developed the picture himself.
Correction:
I read in the back of the photos and my mother wrote there that I was 9 years old and it was shot between November and December
This photo was shot by my father most probably on the 60ies.
This is inside a boat in the port of Setubal and they are fishermen.
My father developed the negatives and the photos himself in a small compartment of the house, under the stairs !
I can remember that quite clearly.
The picture was taken with the Roleicord 6*6.
Some of these pictures, which size is 30*40 cms, were presented in competitions in Europe.
Susan, I love this shot. Have you shown it before on dgrin somewhere? it looks familiar.
What's the story behind the moon, do you know?
Thanks Ivar...it's a favorite of mine. I may have posted it before in this thread, I'm not sure. I wish I knew the story but unfortunately I don't. No one left in the family old enough to tell the story either! It is my paternal grandfather and his best friend is all I know. :cry
Antonio, I've deleted your last two posts in the main thread. You'll have to wait till someone else posts a photo. You need a photo with a link to that photo, that's the game

POST ONE PHOTO. Then someone posts another, related, somehow, to your photo. And so on. You can post again only after someone else has posted
What I was trying to say, is you can not post a photo right after you post another photo. First, someone else has to respond by posting a photo, then you post again. Does this make more sense?
Hi Antonio, maybe this makes it more clear.
It's the first post in the old photos game thread:What I was trying to say, is you can not post a photo right after you post another photo. First, someone else has to respond by posting a photo, then you post again. Does this make more sense?
Ivan.
What I meant that had no sense, is the fact that the comments (those which were here) had no sense since they were refering to a non-existing photo in the main thread.
The rules make all the sense.

Am I missing it. I don't see the connection between this photo and the next one. Seems like this thread tends to get off-track more often than not. No biggie really, just wondering.

I am sorry I did not know the rule about only posting after someone else posted - I asked the question in the picture thread and did not get an answer - did not think to look here
Has this thread died? Could it be revived?

It goes in cycles, seems to me. We'll do our best!
Why is that more of a problem than the photo of the dead deer? The man in the deer photo obviously had something to do with killing the deer. The picture with the foxes was taken in TN in 1960. The woman in the photo (my mother) was just standing next to the fox pelts and had nothing to do with the killing of the foxes.
I have no patience with people who are squicked out by stuff like that

Picture I took for work (1986) for a presentation I had to give on the printing industry. This machine was in the basement where I worked.
