Hello,
I currently have a website my arrowphotos.com setup to use SmugMug. I want to setup another website, sandiegobestphotos.com as well. Do I do this under one account with SmugMug or do I setup another account?
Thanks,
Charles Pfeil

Are you asking about a second distinct site as opposed to forwarding one URL to the other?

If you want two separate sites, both using smugmug - you will need a second account. In that case you might be interested in the help page Can I have multiple SmugMug accounts using the same email address?.

    Ok, thanks.
I will have two email accounts, so should be pretty straightforward.

    Custom Domain
I have my domain name registered with Go Daddy - I have had it for 10 months. So, I filled out this Custom Domain form in my new SmugMug account and get an error message. Can you help me figure out what is wrong? Or maybe there is someone at SmugMug who could do the setup because I really don't have the knowledge to do it.

    Hi Charles,

Do you have the CNAME and Forwarding settings configured correctly with godaddy? You will need to get those set up first before you can add the domain into your SmugMug account Settings. We've got a great video on how to get that all set up here:

That must mean the "GoDaddy Connect" doesn't work?

    Oliver,
My response came across a bit wrong. I should have said, "It appears I have to setup the CNAME and Forwarding settings before "GoDaddy Connect" will work?

    Hi again Charles,

It looks like your CNAME is not configured correctly.

    1) Login to your GoDaddy account
    2) Click the Manage button next to your domain name.
    3) Click the DNS Zone File tab.
    4) Scroll down to the CNAME section. Click the pencil icon next to the www CNAME record, and point that record to domains.smugmug.com (please use exactly that - see screenshot: http://take.ms/VCjen).
    5) Save the changes.
    6) Click the Settings tab towards the top of the DNS records
    7) Click the Manage link in the Forwarding section, under Domain.
    8) Add forwarding, and forward your domain to www.sandiegobestphotos.com , including the www part. Just do a standard 301 redirect (the default settings on this screen are fine)

You're all done at Go Daddy after you make those changes. The last step would be to go to your SmugMug Account Settings > Me > Account, and add www.sandiegobestphotos.com in the domain section. You may need to wait an hour or so after you make those changes at Go Daddy before adding the domain to your Account Settings.

    Oliver,
Ok, thank you for the details. I am away from my computer now; but I will follow through once I can get back to it.

    Oliver,
Got it resolved. My GoDaddy account was forwarded to https instead of http.
Thanks for your patience and help.
