Christmas in Madrid

Out and about in the past couple of weeks. Here are a few impressions:

1. Women selling lottery tickets in the Puerta del Sol. The payout was over two billion dollars this year, which is why it's called el gordo (the fat one). Once again I failed to find the winning ticket on the sidewalk (the odds of that are essentially the same as buying it).

2. Vendor at a street fair in the Plaza Mayor

3. Crowd of parents and children outside of a major department store

4. What they're all looking at

5. Holiday spirits in the Mercado de San Miguel

6. Fancy display at Louis Vuitton. That bag probably costs as much as a decent small car.

Feliz navidad a todos!

Nicely done, Richard. I feel as if I just wandered around Madrid for awhile!

Merry Christmas to you as well!

Timely set. I like the juxtaposition of the first and had to wonder what the crowd was about.

Happy holidays and good luck on finding that winning ticket!

Thanks guys. I also liked the juxtaposition in #1--two different sets of dreams mwink.gif.

    Nice stuff

I'm liking #1 too, but I also like the purse shot which appears empty (which is accurate when doing a value equation... :D)

Thanks, Cristóbal and Gary. Today is Epiphany, which marks the end of the holiday period in Spain, so things should get back to normal tomorrow--other than the beginning of the post-Christmas discount sales mwink.gif.
