A little while ago, experimenting with fill flash.

Yesterday, working on close-ups.

Criticism would be welcome.

Love the close-up shot Don! The light and dark combo is fantastic and spikes are impactful!
The fill flash shot is okayish.....the comp feels bit tight to me as I had trouble following the story as to what it was.
    Cheers!

The first pic does nothing for me. But that semi-macro of the needles! Gads. One of your best.

#2 is incredible! I was wondering what a BW conversion would look like, but on second glance I see all the colors and gradations of color in the needles. Fascinating! And perfect!! --Carter

Like everyone else I Like #2 but on #1 I love the colors and the shapes and textures of the branches and cacti. What if you cropped it so that there was less sky and and less bottom, like 1/3 from the bottom and 1/6 from the sky? You would end up with almost a 4/3 landscape shot and get more of the detail of the cool dried branches. Just a thought...

    Cheers, Sara

Eric, Carter, Sara, thanks. Sara, I'll give the crop some thought.
