CSS help needed by novice

I recently changed to new Smugmug for my site, http://jandd.smugmug.com/ , which I use primarily to share my travels with friends.
There are a few things that I would like to change, but they require CSS, and I was hoping for help.
First, on the Homepage, I’d like to increase the size of the font for the folders, e.g, “North America”.
In the gallery, how can I get rid of the icons for Download and Buy?
The key issue is about the Slideshow that is accessed through the gallery. I use captions to guide viewers. I import them from Lightroom. However, I would like the captions to be more visible, preferably by moving them below the picture and centering them, and/or by making the fonts bigger or whiter or changing the background. Contrast https://jandd.smugmug.com/Europe/Saturday-afternoon-in-Basel/ versus https://jandd.smugmug.com/Europe/Berlin-a-vibrant-city-with-con/ , where I did it manually (and painfully) in Photoshop!
Also, I realized that, while I entered this information in LR in the “Title” field in the Basel gallery, I made the mistake of putting it in the “Captions” field in other galleries, such as https://jandd.smugmug.com/Europe/Cruising-up-the-Rhine-and-the-/ , creating smaller, lighter text in Smugmug in the gallery and Slideshow. I can fix this manually (and painfully), but is there any way to tell Smugmug to use the Caption information as input for the Text field?
I’m using Win 10 and IE 11, which has given me some problems with accessing fonts, but Edge seems to work fine.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks, Allen. I was wondering why it looked so weird when I did a preview. Maybe I can avoid the problem the next time by using something like NotePad that does not do formatting.
Denise, I'll follow your suggestion re getting rid of the icons. Thank you.
Re the multiple galleries, were you referring to the issue regarding Captions vs Titles? If so, my question is how do you do it on more than 1 picture at a time? I can cut the caption for a single picture and paste it into the Title box for that picture, but is there any command that would make this change for all the pictures in a gallery?
I'm not aware of a way to automatically move the caption data to the title field.
