When you get in this close on a face - pet, human, or otherwise - tack-sharpness of the eyes, and just around, is important... for me, the sharpness is not there.
Also, the crop seems a bit narrow and the eyes are not equidistant from the edges, and the lighting seems flat... and the image could use additional contrast.
jmo... hope this helps.
Beautiful Eyes
I would simply crop the shot to show only the eyes since the muzzle is blurry.
They are beautiful so you want your viewer's focus on the eyes

I agree with Eric. The focus seems to be on the eyelids, not the eyes themselves. I find that cameras tend to find more to focus on around the eyes and you either have to try again or focus manually.
Because of the color(s) of the eyes and the markings I would guess that this is an Australian Shepherd.
I agree with the comments about the focus on the eyes but would also add that perhaps it would help if the crop were even on both sides of the face. (There's a little more space left than right.)

Edit: This thread in People kind-of shows what I'm suggesting - might be useful to you?

He's a border collie cross german shepherd. His eyes were blue and slowly it's changed to a bit of both, not really sure why though!
Thanks for the advice
