I recently ran into a meteorologist who is also excellent photographer. That guy has huge advantage. All the spots that I have tried to hit over years and never got the light I dreamed of, he goes there when he knows light would be good. He also can read the maps and know when low fog will be present. Wakes up pre-dawn, checks the charts and then decides to go.......how can those of us trying our luck in blind compete with that?

Something about cloud heights and 3 km model......if they are high enough then enough light escapes and lights up the colors......

Of all the things I need to learn.....(and would die long before I can figure them out), this one seems to be a great asset to have for outdoors photographer......
