Indeed! Hanging out of the side of a minivan, haha. No rigging this beauty.

I figured it was car to car. Rig shots usually have the camera so close to the car that the wide-angle required gives a fair amount of distortion to the true shape of the car. I always prefer car to car.
And as luck would have it, I now have a minivan in my family. What's my excuse for not doing more of this?

To me, most rig shots are down with far too wide a focal length (out of necessity, booms only get so long, and get more flexible with length). That causes all sorts of issues in my eye - most cars do not look well at wide angles. And most rig shots I see are from far too low to the ground, giving a viewpoint where many times its hard to tell the type of car.
In other words there are very few rig shots that I think are actually well executed. There are exceptions, I have seen fantastic rig shots. But most rigs shots are just the tail wagging the dog.

I've often been told the minivan was the best chase vehicle for car to car, due to the sliding door. Wondering about the mechanics of not falling out though.
